DIAMONDS Update 02nd February 2023

This week we have been busy presenting about the DIAMONDS programme!

On Wednesday our research fellow Claire Carswell presented DIAMONDS at "The Challenges and Complexities of Studies in Multiple Long Term Conditions" a Northern LCRN collaborative event.

The event was hosted by the four NIHR Local Clinical Research Networks in the North of England; CRN North East and North Cumbria, CRN North West Coast, CRN Yorkshire and Humber and CRN Greater Manchester. The event focused on multiple long-term condition research. Claire discussed the challenges of research and the difference that PPIE, involving service users & carers, can make in overcoming those challenges.

Two of our DIAMONDS Voice members, Julie and Colin, also presented at the event to discuss their experiences with research, and described what it was like working on the DIAMONDS Programme!

Also this week Jen Brown, DIAMONDS programme manager presented about DIAMONDS Voice at the "Contract Researchers Forum" here at the University of York. The presentation focussed on patient and public involvement and engagement in research, highlighting different tips to make sure the involvement is meaningful, accessible and acknowledges the valuable contribution to research from services users and carers.
